Default swapping Bendix for Slick mags, will the gear fit?

So planning to remove an older Bendix, and install a Slick 4250.....can I use the same gear? 0-320-A

Default Gears

A quick search says the gears are different for Bendix and Slick.

The Lycoming Parts manual shows 3 different gears were used depending on if Impulse, regular mag, and retard breaker mag were used.

When I changed my old S4LN-20 and S4LN-21 mags for LASAR ignition, I was able to use the same gears. LASAR mags are slick mags with some special parts.

I can find no reference for different gears in my Lycoming PC-103 parts manual. The manual shows Slick mags on the E2D using the same gears as the Bendix mags that were on the B2B.

Default Keep the Bendix

Unless the Bendix is DOA, you would do better to overhaul or exchange your Bendix.

(I believe most experienced IAs/A&Ps would agree)
