Early August 2016. Temperatures in high thirties winds from the North 15 knots peak gusts 21.

Cathedral Mountain.

There is a diner nearby. 10 minutes walk through the woods.

There is something captivating in this place.

I just think it was funny because Vlad found that sign hundreds of miles away from anywhere!

That "Next Services 240 miles" sign is pretty humbling... I used to think one that said that, only with 67 miles, in Nebraska was kind of boondocky...

I've driven that road, got gas and snacks at Coldfoot and went another 100+ miles north on a hunting trip back in the mid-90s. Boondocks takes on a whole new meaning north of the Arctic Circle.
