Default Aluminium Flap Bearing Block

Hi Guys,
A friend of mine is looking at milling up some aluminium Flap bearings that will be chamfered and drilled ready to go if he can get enough ppl interested. One positive would be that the bolts could be tourqed down without crushing the bearing. He is also looking at providing a hole or grease point for ease of maintenance.

No offense, but what is this meant to improve?
The current blocks are lighter, cheaper, perform just fine, and already have pretty much zero maintenance.......

The parts that Van's supplies for this application fits the needs perfectly. They are lightweight, easy to fit, self lubricating, clean and maintenance free.

What is it you are trying to improve on?
