Default RV-8 pre buy and transition training.

Just looking at an RV8 in New Orleans. My questions are is there an RV "guru" or mechanic in that are that I may be able to use for a pre buy and also I would need transition training? I have about 3600 hrs but only 2-3 hrs in RVs. Also I have tailwheel endorsement but little time. The airplane is the one with the Air Force paint scheme listed here. Anyone know anything about it? Thanks

With 'little' tailwheel time, your insurance company will likely insist on transition training (assuming you want insurance). Call one of the agencies specializing in RVs (I recommend Gallagher, but there are others) and ask them what they require.
