Default Propellor mounting question

I have an IO 360 Lycoming and a Hartzel constant speed prop. The seal between the crankshaft and prop looks like an o'ring to me. Is that correct? and if so is it a special kind, what kind?

Default Mounting o-ring

Hartzell part number is a C3317-228 description: o-ring.
