Dual battery tray

I am looking to install a dual PC680 size batteries forward of the firewall. I did a search and I found one sample of a tray that someone built. The other examples I found had old links that did not work. Is there any point in me buying the one from Van's and modifying it? I would like to see examples of how others have done this. Has anyone installed two Van's battery trays on the firewall? Enough room?
