Default RV-8 ELT antenna

I have searched the threads , but would like to know where the current "best " location is for the ELT antenna on a RV8. I am leaning tears under the rear Stab. Fiberglas fairing.

Any thoughts or pictures are appreciated.

LAZ,

I placed mine in the rear seat armrest as far aft on it as I could.

My GIB never has complained about it being in the way.

I also placed a small piece of velcro on the canopy frame to eliminate any vibrations for the antenna touching it while closed.

It's a little hard to see but I decided to put mine between the legs of the seat back support. Not much ground plane but a good view of the sky.

It's not in the picture but I put a yellow plastic sleeve on the wire and a red model aircraft wheel collar on the top to avoid poking someone in the eye...

It curves inward so it doesn't touch the canopy...
