Default Auto pilot and Electric Trim

Im relatively new here. starting the empenage for RV7. one of my many questions is. do I need to use electric trim if my intention is to have an autopilot on board. does auto pilot work with manual trim?

If you want to enjoy all the great benefits of auto-trim with your autopilot, then you will need electric trim.

..but any of the autopilots on the market will work with manual trim. You just need to keep it in trim with the AP on instead of the AP doing it for you.
