Default Oil temperature fluctuation AFS 4500s

Flying the -6 around the Southeast this weekend with the wife. Orlando today, I watched the oil temp behave erratically. Temperature is normally rock steady in the 180 degree range. Today however, it was jumping all around from 136-180 degrees for a few mins, back to normal for a bit and then fluctuating again. Oil pressure is steady and what I'd expect, and all other engine indications are normal. Consumption and oil level normal upon landing. I'm thinking its a bad temp sensor, but figured I'd put it out to the group for some other opinions. Gotta get the airplane back to Charlotte tomorrow and if it's indication, I'm gonna press on and deal with it at home.

Temps don't fluctuate that quickly. Check for loose connections. If they are good, suspect the sending unit.

I agree with Gary. Usually it's a loose ground problem.
