Default Adel Clamp Just a Little Too Big?

Adel clamps always seem to be a little too big (or too small).

This weekend I had the recurring problem of not having the right size Adel.

I happened to have some 1" heat shrink that I had bought to go over a tube. I got the idea of putting a couple of layers of the 1" heat shrink over the clamp. Presto - the clamp was now the right size to clamp the hose.

Good idea, I'll probably use that some day. What I have often done to alleviate this problem is to put a couple wraps of silicone tape (rescue tape) around the item I am clamping to.
