Cylinder casting numbers...

I bought a used engine out of a lancair legacy as the owner was upgrading to an io-540. The engine logs show that the cylinders were replaced with SL36006W-A20P in May 2014.

Should that number not be somewhere on those cylinders? The casting number that i am seeing is SLC36005 J.

Thoughts?

Superior cylinder part numbers are usually engraved into the crankcase mating flange. The casting number you see on the heads s just that, a casting number, and not the cylinder head or cylinder assembly part number.

Mine were in the flange side , between both cylinders. Very hard to see if at all possible.
