What do I put on fuel line fittings?

What if anything should I put on the threads of the fuel pickup tubes inside my tanks? I have the pre made versions from Van's.

You can use a little Fuel Lube if you need to make them go on smooth, but you're going to be safety-wiring them on and never touching them again anyway, so you could do them dry. Mine were assembled before the safety-wire design came along, and I pro-sealed over them so they'd never come off. Messy - but I'll never see them again.

Hmmm... I thought you weren't supposed to put anything on the flared fittings.
