Hi Bernard

I installed the earthX battery in place of the PC680

Performance is excellent, only issue is the battery is a slightly different size even though it's meant to be a drop in replacement for your standard Vans battery case, but it does squeeze in and after a couple of days it's settles in OK.

Cheers

The Search function is your friend. There's a whole lot of info here in the VAF archives. Search for posts on:
EarthX
LiFePO4

I just installed mine, and am flying it for the first time today. Also, since I also just had my RV-7A wrapped at AircraftWraps, it all became a weightless wrap.
- Subtract 15 lbs for the Odyssey lead battery.
+ Add 12 lbs for the wrap plus 3 lbs for the EarthX battery.
I did accomplish another weight/balance because the CG moved aft about 1.5 inches.

I have 40 hours so far on an 18Ah Shorai battery. At less than 2.5 lb it cranks then engine just as well if not better than the PC680. Alternator out operations probably have less endurance but I have a backup alternator on the vacuum pad.
