Default RV-7 - N307AB Preliminary is Posted

"Examination of the accident site by the National Transportation Safety Board, investigator-in-charge revealed that the debris path was about 1⁄2 mile long. All major components of the airplane were discovered in the debris path. The first piece observed was the vertical stabilizer with the upper portion of the rudder attached. The left wing separated about mid span and both horizontal stabilizers also separated and were scattered throughout the center of the debris field."

This is a question only and not intended to start speculation:

A colleague and friend of mine was involved in a RV-7 fatal accident that has many similarities to the N307AB NTSB preliminary report. Just wondering if anyone in the Pacific Northwest has knowledge of the retrieval of N747BA that went down in the Hood Canal in January of this year?

It was N747BA, and the NTSB report is here -

Sounds like the wreckage was not recovered.
