Default Strangest Sensor Problem Ever?

OK guys, this one is really confusing...

I've been struggling with whether or not to adjust the locations of my engine controls (another story altogether), so last night I was sitting in the driver's seat trying to feel everything out. The prop cable was not attached to the FI servo, it was just sort of hanging out front.

So I started moving the prop control in and out fairly rapidly and I watched the EGTs and CHTs on my Dynon EMS jump up 20+ degrees! They are all pretty much all over the place but then when I stop moving the knob the temps will stabilize back down to ambient temperature. Sometimes I'll have to pump the throttle several times to see it happen.

I tried the same with the prop and mixture controls and nothing happens.

The throttle cable is not passing anywhere near the probes or the sensor wires.

Ok, so who's gonna take a swing at this curve ball?

My guess is that somehow I'm building up static and it's somehow discharging and affecting the probes?

Do you have the engine ground strap installed yet?

No, not yet. After I submitted my question I thought about that. I'll ground the engine case and try again.
