preparing engine for a future FP --> CS conversion
Warning - possible stupid question ahead... asking to learn....
I'm planning the build of my engine. I am going to use a fixed pitch aluminum prop for now. The engine core is an O-320-E2A. I want to build it for 160 HP, and with fuel injection.
My accessory case has the mounting point for a prop governor (at the lower right side). The engine has the large front bearings and the crank is hollow in the front. I think it is an older crank, maybe with "sludge tubes"
I think when I want to convert, I can add the governor, the stainless oil line and its fittings, remove the front plug in the crank and add the rear plug.
My question is: for now, with the fixed pitch prop, is it OK to have the stainless steel oil line / fittings installed? I don't know if having that line there and no governor installed would cause oil to flow poorly to the front bearing (or flow away from it).
Thanks for any info,
dave
