Default angle valve Lyc--prop governor compatibility?

Need some help on compatibility between a Lyc & a prop governor.

The Lyc is an IO-360-A3B6D out of a Mooney (we think); it's set up for a rear prop governor.

The governor is a new MT D94315 STRAUBING model P-860-4, #12G083-G.

The previous owner apparently bought the governor from Van's, based on the catalog listing for Lyc 320/360.

Problem is that the prop won't cycle (went to prop shop for checkout). Further research shows that high pressure oil from the governor is apparently passing along the gasket in the area of the 'smile' cutout in the acc. case, and going back into the return, rather than into the feed line to the prop. Anyone know if this governor is compatible with an older Lyc with a rear governor mount? I don't suppose that there's any chance that the governor is 'clocked' wrong on the mounting pad, is there?

Thanks,

Charlie

Sounds like you're missing the adapter plate required with the dual-mag engine: http://www.lycoming.com/Portals/0/te...20LW-12347.pdf

I have that exact engine in my -6. I made my own plate just from looking at the pics in that service instruction.
