Smile Team Aerodynamix Nav, Strobe and Landing Lights

I just wanted to share the results of my Team Aerodynamix LED Landing Light, Nav/Strobe installation on my RV-7. I originally purchased a complete lighting system from Van's years ago. After a recommendation from a friend and researching LED lighting systems, I selected Team Aerodynamix's kit. The instructions were easy to follow and the kit provided all needed items. We did have to do some work on the rudder fairing to allow the tail Nav/Strobe assembly to fit. I used two Landing lights (instead of a landing and taxi light) wired with a wig-wag relay provided by Team Aerodynamix. I will be selling my original unused system from Van's in the future.

Hole cut for the the landing light. There is one in each wing wired with a three position switch and a wig-wag relay

Nav/strobe mounting bracket installed in wingtip

LED landing light mounted

LED Nav and Landing Light illuminated

Additional fiberglass added to rudder fairing to accommodate Nav/Strobe assembly

Early model RVs had a tight taper on the rudder fairing for early model nav strobes. Later model LEDs have a larger body for heat dissipation and Vans started making this mount in the rudder fairing larger. I believe this transition in started around 2004.
