Your fear isn't realized in actual use. Mine have been on for two years and show no wear. Others have been in use longer with no negative attributes.

It all comes down to personal choice. If you like your method, that is all that matters.

Hands down best advice you'll get here on the internet! Lets face it, probably 95% of the mods and extras added to RV-10s are nice to haves, not need to haves despite the rhetoric posted on various threads. The challenge is separating the wheat (a mod that corrects a known problem or weakness) vs. the chaff (a mod that is simply a personal preference, Ford vs. Chevy if you will), and even then the answer is seldom black or white.

I spent many, many, many hours trying to get the automotive style seals to fit properly. They look good and work well. However, I've also flown another -10 with the stock setup and they work fine and don't actually look bad.

Given my time again, I would go with the standard seals and spend my time doing something more productive.
