Default Updates on prop tape?

Are there any updates on the prop tape question? A number of us tried the 3M product sold by Spruce (https://www.aircraftspruce.com/pages...mproptape2.php) but found it yellowed terribly after a couple of years and looks unsightly. I did a thread search and came up empty-handed. A broader web search identified products by other names from other vendors, but when I check into it, it's the same 3M stuff as above. Any new info?

Default The 3M products are not all the same!

Hello Thierry

I made a small excell table to keep an overview about the available protection tape from 3M. I just must looking for it ... I do not have it here, it is in my office, I try to send it later to you.

I used on my plane 2 different protection foils.

On the flaps the tape from flyboy assesoires, not yellowing.
On the prop the tape from ACS, allready yellow.

There are usualy too thickness available: 0.008" and 0.014"

Look for products named PPF Paint Protection Film Scotchguard pro

Hope this helps!

At that price you can change it regularly without too much cost outlay. If it lasts long to yellow I would suspect you don't enter moisture very often.
When I needed prop tape I used propguard but it was more costly as I recall. I never had yellowing with propguard but flew in moisture regularly so it didn't last anywhere close to 2 years.
