Default RV-8 - new -1 wing on older airframe

Hi

I am new to the this forum and are looking for a RV8.

I am in South Africa and have been flying a Super Cub for 17 years. Sold her 6 months ago and is now actively searching for a -8.

I need some help from the RV8 builders as I have very limted knowledge (so far).

Question 1, would a new -1 wing (after 2001) fit on an airframe that was built in 1998 with the old pre 2001 wing. Did the mounting center section also change?

Question 2, what is the chance that a new wing that is already built, will not fit on a center section of an old airframe that had the old wing on due to difference in the distance between front and rear spars or building techniques (assuming that the mounting holes are indeed the same (question 1) or whatever else could differ?

I can get a RV8 that was built with an older wing that is damaged and the wing needs replacement. There is also a new wing (-1 slow built) available from someone that cannot continue with his project and I need to find out if this could be fitted to the older frame without any risks or changes?

Thanks

Regards

Pieter
