Default O-320 Dipstick Tube Long or Short?

The O-320 I am overhauling for my RV-6 did not come with an oil dipstick or dipstick tube. Looking at the parts catalog it shows two versions. Looks like they are the same except for the length. Is this just a clearance issue within the cowl/motor mount? If so, which one would I want?

My -6 has the longer dipstick/tube. It's much easier to reach through the cowling. Mine is from a Beechcraft Sport.

Thanks Mel. My O-320-E2A came off a Cherokee 140. Not sure what they originally had.

I had to shorten the original that came with my O-320. Not difficult to do, so if you get the long one you will not have any problem.

Call Don George in Orlando. I needed the same thing and he had one just the right size and at a good price.

So it sounds like a long one is the way to go. I have a message into Don George. Thanks!
