Default New Font for Forums

Where did the new script font come from?

Anyone else find it much harder to read?

Maybe I find it harder to read because I'm using a 1920x1200 monitor.

Hmmm... fonts look the same as always to me. Must be a setting on your computer.

I assume you are referring to the fonts and arrangement on the home page, top right?

They changed for me as well when the page layout was altered a few weeks ago. They aren't bad on my work computer but my laptop doesn't display them very well. These are the same computers I have been using for years, so something has changed. Maybe a java update or something is causing the difference? Or maybe it's my 'upgrade' to ie7 on the laptop. The work computer is still on ie6.
Nothing seems to have changed elsewhere, though.

Mike,

It's a feature of the Ie7 upgrade... same thing happened to me.
I got an option on the upgrade install of "enhanced readability" or some equivalent, and I said yes.

I believe this is the feature in question...

http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d...ClearType.html

You sould be able to "fix" it here...

http://www.microsoft.com/typography/...ner/Step1.aspx

I actually like the "new look"...

Yeah... but I actually like the new display...
It is easier to read on LCD displays...

Check the example on this page (pop-blocker ON unless you want to install the feature)

http://www.microsoft.com/typography/...ner/Step1.aspx

It probably would even make your Firefox easier to read....

Gil and others,

It's not IE. I'm using a Mac with Safari 2.04 as the web browser. This site seems to be the only one dispaying the new font. Believe me, I've checked every setting that could be responsible with no luck -- I'm pretty savvy on the Mac operating system, but this one has me baffled.

BTW the fonts affected are all the fonts on the site except for the adds.

I'm actually getting used to the new look, but I'd love to know why it changed.

Thanks,

Honest guys, I didn't touch it.

It's displaying the same font it has always displayed on all my computers and laptops.
