Default Keeping Starlings Off Your Tail

I keep my RV on the ramp so starling poop on my empennage is a constant problem. An engineer friend had a similar problem with his porch furniture. He cleverly ran monofilament fishing line along the backs of his swings and rocking chairs using wire stand-offs so the line stood about 2" above the seat backs. This kept the birds from lighting on his furniture. Thought I'd try the same trick with the plane. After about a week, haven't seen a single white streak on my empennage.

I used an old fiberglass tent pole, some hinge wire for the standoffs, a cushion clamp, a little sheet metal and cut part of the end out of my builders level storage tube as a socket to hold the thing in place. It weighs nothing and stores easy in the baggage compartment.
