Governor choice

I am installing a Hartzell Blended airfoil prop on a Lycoming IO-540 D4A5 from Van's. It is going into my RV10.
Does anyone have experience using an alternative governor from the one Van's sells for this application?
Specifically, I have a source for a Hartzell E-3-2 and a Hartzell V-5-2 which the source says "a lot of RV guys use."
Does anyone one have such a combination, and how is it working for you?
