Default Horsepower vs Vacuum Pump

There is a part of me that is considering eliminating the vacuum system on my -4. Would that be a noticeable power increase by removing the vacuum pump? What is the vacuum pump worth in horsepower? I know it wouldn't be a lot, but maybe 5-7 horsepower.

Thoughts?

I doubt that much, maybe less that 1 HP? although the whole pump & vacuum system can weigh 10 pounds, which is worth getting rid of...
Ditch the pump, and go EFIS w/ engine monitor plus an airspeed indicator and an altimeter.
I wish I had done so more completely.

Whatever I saved, I null'd it out when I replaced it with a vacuum pad driven B/U alternator.

One way to estimate is to look up the wattage of an electrical driven vacuum pump. The Aero Safe guardian draws about 200W of power.

A horsepower is 746W, so 200W is 0.27 HP.

Of course there are other efficiency differences, but it's not likely that the one on your engine draws 4 times that. So it's less than 1 HP.
