City Museum St.Louis

Not exactly a trip report yet, I'm hoping to do a "Daddy/Daughter" day trip to the City Museum in St.Louis and was looking for the best airport/transportation options. Hopefully someone local can fill me in.

The closest airport to downtown is KCPS ( St louis downtown) which is across the river in Illinois. They have rental cars and taxi's. Plus you can fly past the St Louis Arch

Another option would be KSUS (Spirit of St Louis) or 1H0 (Creve Coeur) but they are farther west along the Missouri river.

City Museum is a great place to visit. Take knee pads, you'll be glad you did. When I was putting mine on everyone around was committing that they wished they had known to bring some. Plan on being there at least 5 hrs.

I just found out my cousin lives next to KSUS and can leave a vehicle for me and will probably go that route.

I'm a little bit behind, we did this daddy daughter date a couple weeks ago and both of us had a Blast!
Semi-early morning departure, she was so excited and our destination was still a surprise.

I think we had just leveled off at 9000 we she zonked out, she's always made beauty sleep a priority.

My cousin who works in the industrial park surrounding KSUS lent us his truck for the day. She was pretty ecstatic when she saw the Dr. Suess meets Peter Pan castle/jungle gym in front of City Museum. If you look close there are 2 airplanes suspended, along with firetrucks and cranes etc.

Did I mention that everything is meant to be climbed on, jumped on etc? I couldn't forget the slides, the place has more slides than Oshkosh has RV's......

The Airplanes still had the wiring and misc parts and placards,

I didn't heed the advice of others to bring knee pads and after crawling and sliding around for 3 hours I had to take a break while she played in the ball pit.

Since we were in town and I've never seen it.......plus the restaurant at KCPS had ice-cream.

Just one big excuse to fly the RV and make some memories!
