7 vs 8 Rudder

My 7a rudder was damaged during the Wings over Whiteman Air Show due to gust lock failure.
Since I will most likely replace the rudder, does anyone have info or advice on replacing the rudder with the 8 rudder? Spin control, performance? I am FFI carded and fly some shows and flyovers.
