LED hangar or shop lights

I am not affiliated with this company whatsoever. However, if you're using fluorescent lighting in your shop or hangar, these bulbs are the stuff.

I bought 50 and they are nice and bright! Very pleased!! I bought the ones that wire directly to the 110VAC, bypassing the ballast. They are easy enough to install using your good judgement. I put them in the existing 2'x4' ceiling tile troffer fixtures in my shop.

Using these cuts the amps required in half. Now I can run all the lights at once without popping the breaker like it used to occasionally do. And run them 2x as long for the same utility cost!

These are every bit as bright as the 40w T-12 bulbs that they replaced. Probably much brighter to be honest. 1800 lumens is more than enough per bulb.

Look interesting, Vince, especially if you already have the florescent fixtures.

Here's another option that I just picked up at Costco to replace my existing pain-in-the-neck florescent fixtures entirely. Cost about $35-40 each for 4-ft fixtures. Much brighter and instant on, even in a cold garage. 3 units fully lights up the one-bay part of my garage that served as my airplane factory. Should last more or less forever. I wish I'd had these when I was building!

It's all in the eye of the beholder....

A standard T-12 4 ft. bulb is rated at 2600 lumens mean light output, and 2950 lumens straight out of the box.

Pretty cool, I'd like to change mine to LED one of these days.

I believe mine are currently high output fluorescent. I love the amount of light I have but they drive my handheld ICOM A6 crazy. Lot's of buzzing over the radio that I can't squelch out.

It'd be nice to listen to the CTAF once in awhile without going outside.
