Default Vernier-Assist Throttle control

My 7 has a vernier throttle which is nice for cross-country cruise settings, etc. but I prefer a non-vernier friction lock when maneuvering, landing, taxiing, etc. I came across this at McFarlane recently. Does anyone have experience with the "vernier-assist throttle control"?

We saw some of the prototypes of these, and played with the demo units at OSH last year, and I was very impressed. We're thinking of putting one in one of the new projects we have going, just to give it a try.

I have been told by the RV formation flying groups that they will not allow a vernier controlled throttle cable. Would this cable be excepted by the formation groups? just curious. Larry

It should be Larry, because it moves as easily and in the same manner that a conventional friction lock control does. But it still has the vernier function when you want it.
