Default KAYS - Waycross GA Pireps?

A bunch of us Canucks are leaving home on our trek to the bahamas this friday.

Looking to stop just short of florida and keep the distance doable for our cessna brothers to meet for drinks in the pm. KAYS seems to have some decent reports on airnav. Any pireps or suggestions of better choices in that area. Need crew van, decent hotel at decent price and not somewhere that we need to worry about planes on the ramp. Just a stop over, no need for fancy.

Any tips welcome.

Default Baxley Ga KBHC

I stopped at Baxley Ga (KBHC) a few years ago on way home from SNF due to WX. Great fuel prices and had a van we all used to get into town for the evening. Plenty of places to eat and hotels. Its just north of Waycross. Both are popular stops for SNF travelers. We spent the night as did many others, and ramp was good.

Talking during the NHL playoffs ?

a bunch of canucks departing Canada during the playoffs ?
...sounds like blasphemy

We're a two ship pair of 8's heading out from Buffalo Thursday
destination Marsh Harbor, Staniel Cay. Been to KAYS many times
due to weather or fuel. Great FBO with crew car, call ahead if your arriving late
they'll leave you keys.

Default Bob

Some bad news for you if Staniel is your destination. Staniel Cay airport is closed for MONTHS. Uggh.

Closest is black point island, with a ferry. DONT HOG THE RAMP. 9 planes full of Canadians will be on blackpoint for a couple nights starting April 27th then off to crooked island for another 3 nights.

Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated. Always like finding new places to drop in for a night.

LOOKS LIKE KBHC is getting our business so far. Didnt like KAYS response.
