Default PPR setting for Dynon tach on O-320?

Anybody know what the Pulses/rev setting should be for the Dynon D-180, when the tach input is wired to a P-mag, on an O-320?

Phil,
Helps to put these in the Glass Cockpit or EMS areas.

Page 6 of the P-mag install manual:

Quote:
?6? is a courtesy (optional) connection to provide a digital tack signal ? two
pulses per revolution (reconfigurable to 1ppr using EICAD). The default
tach voltage is 12 volts, although some ignitions were produced with a 5
volt signal. See notes on the Wiring Diagram at the end of this manual for
switching tach voltage signal, if needed.

I just asked the question on the Dynon forum for an IO540. I assumed it would be 3 per rev for a 6 cylinder but actually it's 1.5. The explanation is that every second pulse is negative and the EMS only reads positive pulses. Anyway, wired it up with one 30k resistor and one 60k to see what worked better. Both were rock steady and the RPM read correctly.

So, I assume the answer to your question is "1"......

Default Been there, done that

I went through this process... Set it to "1" for a four cyl Lycoming.
