Default 9a-9 conversion question

I am considering a conversion from my
9a to a 9. I have finished my cowling for the 9a.
Will I be able to use the same cowling for the 9 when I change out the engine mount? Has anyone done this conversion that may be
able answer this question?

It is the same cowl. Just glass up the slot you cut in it for the nose gear leg and rock on.

Default Convert to 9

Not flying yet but have done most of this conversion. I agree with Scott, same cowl. If you don't want to glass up the nose gear slot you could make a sheet metal cover and use same nut plates.

Default options?

....or make it larger, and perhaps it could become a cowl flap?

Been there, done that. Yes the cowl should fit fine after the conversion, though you will have to modify to fit the new gear legs coming out of the corners.
