Question post paint control surface balance

I'll be finishing up the paint on my 8 in the next couple of weeks and not really sure how to go about checking the balance on the control surfaces. Any words of experience and wisdom out there? Thanks.

Default control surface balance

on the elevator of our 7A we removed the bolt holding the elevator s left and right and the elevator control tube so that we could balance them separately. if you try to balance them as a unit the friction in the system makes it awkward, and you wont know which one is unbalanced

Default Used Van's Stock Weights

Flew for a year without paint. Painted and flew with no rebalancing. No noticable difference. Did the same with my Archer II 18 years ago.

Default contol balance

Jon Nys of Tulsa has built over 20 rv's.Ive painted many rvs for him and he said theres really no reason to have them balanced after painting.

Default No need

I agree with Bob and the others. I painted then checked the balance of each elevator individually. No change. If doing it again I wouldn't bother.
