Default Prime outside of wingtips?

We are getting close to first flight (~60 days or so) and I'm debating whether or not I should prime the outside of the wing tips. We are planning on flying first and painting next winter or so. Is the gel coat affected by UV? I'd hate to waste the time and weight of priming with something that will need to be sanded off when it comes time to paining. What are most builders doing?

Gel coat is a good UV blocker to the underlying fiberglass.
