Default Prop extension

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cessna-172-P...-/221339279388

A friend of mine offered me a prop spacer like the one shown above for the O320 on my RV4. I've never seen this type before. I am assuming that it is intended for a metal prop only. Is this correct? Should I stay away from it and bite the bullet and get a saber extension? I have bought an Ed Sterba prop for the airplane.

Thanks

This extension should never be used with a wood propeller.

A wood prop requires a flat plate area to provide a friction mating surface between the prop and the extension.

PM and let's talk.

Edit: mine is 2.25" and may not be long enough for the RV4?
