Lyc. 320 E2D---No mech fuel pump pad

Have lyc 320 e2d without pad for mechanical fuel pump. Bldg. RV 9. Now what--is wise to use engine with electric pump with 2nd electric pump as back up or bad idea---also is it possible to replace rear acc case with case with pad for mech pump? 690 hrs on engine and needs overhaul so stick with or look for diff motor? Thoughts??

You need to exchange the accessory case for one with a pump pad. You will also have to add the fuel pump pushrod and probably the eccentric cam to operate it. Using an electric pump for continuous operation can be done but I don't recommend it.

I had the same engine and had Divco in Tulsa, Ok. machine the rear access. case. It only cost around a $100. You will also need a different gear with an eccentric on it and a fuel pump plunger thingy.
