Sealing the tip-up leading edge

Hi gang!

I was hoping to get suggestions as to what works best for sealing the little gaps along the leading edge of the tip-up canopy (RV-9). I would also like to have a smooth, flat edge that the front fiberglass fairing will lay against.

Mel is the man for this question.

I taped over the gaps with UMHW tape and then installed the D bulb as per plans.

I can tell you this though... I Initially thought the seal was only to keep the weather out. Not so, I got a very loud whistle without the seal installed. The faster I went, the louder it got! You could actually hear it over the radio when I transmitted!
