Manual Trim & FI

I am at the point in the instructions where I am supposed to install the manual trim. Instructions say if going FI to order the longer trim cable. I have the 181 so assume I need the 191 if going FI, however I am not positive I am going with FI. Will the longer cable work with Carb too? Also, will Vans take this shorter one back and send the longer one? Did I miss this on the Fuse. order form?
