Default Timing

Have been having high CHT temperature on a couple of cylinders for most of the summer. While talking to a AP and rv owner, it was suggested to check timing first. Sure enough both mags were adjusted slow or had gotten slow and were causing the problem. I plan on checking the timing at oil changes or at least every other one.

"Slow"? Advanced timing (e.g., 30 deg BTDC instead of 25) will usually cause higher CHTs.

I wonder what has caused the timing to change by five degrees? Time to open up those magnificent mags.
