Default Fire extinguisher maintenance

I have a halon extinguisher in the plane, and coming up on annual condition inspection in a couple of months. The extinguisher is probably 2.5 years old (I'll have to check receipts) or so.

Other than check for full charge (which I do regularly) and that the mechanism is intact, safety pin/wire in place, etc., what are people doing about repetitive inspection/maintenance of extinguishers? Do you take them somewhere to get them inspected each year (or two years, or 6 years, or what)? Etc.

TIA!
