Default Cheap Weight Savings

See the small tab on the rod-end bearing? Normally, we use an AN970 washer. But there's really no need to carry that much weight around, so I made a few of these from .025 aluminum. Plenty strong enough and saved enough grams to justify the small effort.

For more weight savings, the thin washer and the MS21042 nuts help out. Even on my RV-3B, changing to the MS21042 nuts saves a whole pound.

Of course these things were part of installing my autopilot roll servo and that's over four pounds added. Some days are like that.

Yep..... It even makes it easier to lube the bearing.
