Default 100 mile/hr Tape rescue

After just finishing the dreaded nightmare of bondo/fiberglass tips on the empennage, I thought I would share my discovered/foundness for 100 mile/hr tape (duct-tape...) This may be nothing new for those with far more experience than myself, but I decided to mask with duct-tape before spreading the superfil/bondo...
I was pleased to find that the tape holds up to a fair amount of sanding, and when the tape is removed a very nice clean line is left. Acetone then removes any underlying tape glue....
I also came to the conclusion that I am forever grateful in my decision to build an all aluminum aircraft with minimal fiberglass labor...

Default I had many fill spots but ...

Every time I had to fill and area I just layed on layers if fiberglass then sanded to the right contour. In 2.5 years of flight ops I haven't had any edge cracks develop. The tape mask sounds good.

Default Slight confusion

Terry,
Does this mean you sanded through (or nearly through) the tape?

Not entirely through the tape...just enough on the edge to feather the superfil...
