Default Garmin Engine Monitor question

I'm working on wiring my panel.

I haven't bought the engine monitor kit yet. I.e. I have the box, but none of the sensors.

I also have not mounted the engine yet.

I'd like to go ahead and wire up the harness for all of the probes, but I need a rough idea of how long to make the leads.

I can figure out how to get them to the firewall, and I have a bunch of the thermocouple wiring that Stein sold me. About how far on the firewall side do the wires need to go before they tie into the sensor wires?

Thanks,

-Dan

Hi Dan,

We normally by default make those wires 6' long for the typical RV...though some folks prefer 8' and then trim them to fit. Less than 6' will be fine for some sensors, but for the thermocouple leads 6' works well. That's what we provide with our pre-made harnesses.

Cheers,
Stein

That's what I needed to know.

Thanks,
