Default DIY lightweight aluminum towbar

I have the Bogert tow bar for my RV-7A. It works well and is quite durable. However, I've always felt that carrying a steel towbar in my aluminum airplane has to violate some fundamental law of nature (I'm not sure which one). With time on my hands and a willingness to steal ideas from others, I built an aluminum towbar from a crutch. Weighs about 1/3 of the Bogert unit. You have to be more gentle with it than the Bogert bar, but it works quite well! Here is a link to the Flickr photo album:

From a guy that has had 4 knee surgeries, what a great idea. I have several sets of crutches floating around. I want to make a tug out of an old snow blower too. Thanks for the idea!

That can not be a crutch, do you see those holes with that spring pin? It must be lawn furniture. Either that, or it could be adapted as a removable stick for the copilot!

Seriously, the aluminum tow bar is a great idea, I have an old crutch that could be retasked too!
