A trip to the islands - video

The early fall weather has been great in Central Ohio. I took the opportunity to make one last trip up to the islands. I took a co-worker with me - it was her first time in a small plane. She says she enjoyed it. You be the judge.

I'm going to have to start a new project, though. The optional audio out jack works much better than I thought it would, but my camera has only one mic input so I lose all of the engine sounds if I want to capture the intercom and ATC chatter (which I very much do want to capture), so I think I need to build a little audio mixer that also samples the ambient sounds. The other camera captures the ambient sound, but it has to external mic input.
 
I've only flown in to Put-In-Bay twice (a few years back), but really enjoyed it. Thanks for the video -- brought back nice memories.

I don't know how to solve your sound issue, but I can offer this: for both the GoPro and the Garmin Virb cameras, they make a polarizing filter that fits them that completely eliminates that propeller digital funkiness thing.
 
Dave, Great area to fly. I miss flying to Put-in-Bay for some weekend fun.
Next time I'm up that way in my -6, I'll make sure to put the islands back on my list. Thanks for the video reminder.

Yesterday I posted this Video to your other posting, "Trying to build a better mount for a camers" it is a video that I made using a rotating camera mount that I made, I think this is what you have been trying make.

Great weather you had Dave! I was there two years ago it was very windy. Put-in-Bay is a great place. An RVator has a retreat base there but I lost the contact :eek:
