Default landing light

Does anyone have knowledge of the best angle to set the landing light for optimal night landings.

10-degrees down maybe? Set it and never changed. Works fine.

But you may consider splitting between a "flat" setting on one light and "steep" setting with the other light if you have a tailwheel plane. You'll loose most if not all your light when you set the tail down otherwise.

Or set up the second as a taxi light as Mel indicates. Mine are all on one circuit. All or none.

I set my landing light up by raising the tail to flight level and aiming the light as far down the runway as I could see it. I actually used the taxiway, because I didn't wnat to be on the runway playing with it at night. Then I set the tail down and aimed the taxi light.
