Default Rudder cable link F-6119

Working on the rudder pedals. Need to make 4 F-6119 rudder cable links. I read the plans that call for fabrication from 0.050 4130. I hate to sound stupid but where is this material in my kit? I'm sure it's something really simple and I will probably look dumb but will someone please clue me in?

Also, would it be better to make that link once the empennage has been attached to the fuselage and the rudder mounted?

It's that little rusty strip of metal amidst all the other non-corroded stuff.

If you lost it, no sweat...it's only a buck fiddy six from Van's:
Code:
SS4130-050X1/2X20 F-459/F-6119/F-693 $1.56
And yeah...imho, wait until you have your actual seats, cushions, rudder pedals installed permanently, cables rigged to the rudder, etc. Otherwise you'd just be guessing what the length should be.

Does anyone know why one shouldn't use a turnbuckle here?

Don't see why you couldn't. I'm planning on using a piece of stainless to replace the rusty strip.
