Default Male Rod end depth

Hello,

I rigged the ailerons today...Yes the wings are fitted!!

But, there is less than 1/2 of the total threads engaged betten the rod end and pushrod tube. I took them out and measured, it is just under 1/2" of thread engagement in the tube.

What is the standard for this?

Default screw depth

mine were 1/3 to 1/2 , I didn't except that.. ordered new tubes and cones last week, vans said make sure they are screwed in atleast the same as the bolts are wide.. I think 1/3 would do that, but I couldn't deal with that..
I want 2/3rds screwed in on both.. don't cut the tubes till your ready to rig the ailerons and the wings are on.. its ok to install one end but if you have not cut the tubes yet , WAIT TILL YOU HAVE TOO.. I should have waited..
don't cut them per plans on the rv9.. close but not close enough for me.. .

Danny...

If the tubes were cut too short, you could probably find some rod ends that are extra long. Might be easier than making new tubes.

If you look carefully at the female part of the rod end, there is a tiny hole. As long as the threads are visible thru the hole, your OK.
