I used to do oil samples until I had an engine with a filter full of metal and thought it would be interesting to see what the oil analysis people said even though there was ample proof the engine was well on its way towards self-destruction. I ended up overhauling the engine and while I was doing that the oil analysis came back which said "nice wearing Lycoming." My advice is fly often, change your filters often, carefully inspect the oil filters and go from there.
I think an oijua board is a better investment then sending oil off to analyze.
